On Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy) I was able to reproduce the reference to the new cell
being appended but when I went back to the original cell it was very easy to
remove the reference to that cell without retyping the entire number. So
perhaps the issue you are seeing is fixed in OpenOffice 2.3.0 which is in
Ubuntu 7.10?

In spreadsheet. When a formated currency number is entered and the right arrow
key is pressed the new cell refference is added to the number in the previous
cell
