Binary package hint: nvidia-glx-new
After installing my new Geforce 8800 GTS, the XServer did not start with
the nvidia driver and exits with this error message:

(II) Loading extension NV-GLX
(II) NVIDIA(0): NVIDIA 3D Acceleration Architecture Initialized
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Need libwfb but wfbScreenInit not found
Fatal server error:
AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0

To resolve this problem, the following steps had to be done (found solution in
forums around the web):
- Download nVidia installer 1.0-9755
- Extract with '-x' option
- copy and or link
NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9755-pkg1/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/libnvidia-wfb.so.1.0.9755
to /usr/lib/xorg/modules/libwfb.so
Be aware, that the problem only occurred with the new 8800 card. My old
6800 worked perfectly without this library.
