Public bug reported:

I have a Toshiba U205-S5067 that came with Windows Vista. As soon as I
got the laptop I formated the drive and installed Ubuntu. Everything
worked fine until I placed the computer in Hibernation. After coming
back, I had no sound. I tried Googling for a resolution but nothing
worked. I then tried to use the recovery disk that came with my computer
in hopes that Windows would wake the sound card back up. Nothing. The
only "solution" I have found is to boot the computer with option
acpi=off. This is not a good solution since I am on a laptop. Without
acpi a laptop just isn't a laptop. Any suggestions? Is this a bug? I
will post my lspci and dmesg from a fresh boot at the following:

Thanks.
