Thanks - this is now fixed for me. Still hard to understand how 2 kernels have come out over a week with this bug which must have effected thousands of users. Novice users who do not know how to boot to a previous kernel now have a bricked installation and may never return to linux. Surely there should be some basic testing of each kernel release against major video drivers
