I suspect this is the same problem I discovered yesterday on a clean install directly to Feisty from the CD. The easiest work around I've found seems to be to just right click on the menu bar network connection icon (near the clock) and disable the network, then enable it again. Sometimes I have to do it more than once, but once it connects, things seem to be fine after that.
The new machine is a Sharp WA70. I've done about a dozen Ubuntu machines so far, and this is the first time I've seen this problem, but it's also the first time I've done a Sharp notebook. (Is there some place I should report the various minor problems I had to overcome along the way? This network thing is the only major unresolved one.) -- Need to manually ifup eth0 in feisty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/107123 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
