I already have esound-common installed. The error I get is:
$ dc_gui2 /bin/sh: /usr/bin/esd: not found
This causes it to stop without exiting to the prompt. I personally gave up on dcgui when it didn't work so I had uninstalled it (just reinstalled it today to check those things for you). I just installed apt-file and used it to find what package contained the missing /usr/bin/esd and it is the esound package. After installing this I don't get the error message but the program still does nothing and goes nowhere. Seems like the esd problem wasn't that major and the whole package just doesn't work on Ubuntu. I am going to uninstall both esound and dcgui and I have found alternatives that work but I am still interested in finding a solution. -- dcgui won't launch https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134799 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
