clean work around for this is create link to application on the desktop name it 
then over to applications tab. Do a description if you want put in the command 
line box sudo system-config-samba.
Then advanced options button put a check in run in terminal.
End result is terminal will come up wanting the password enter it and POOF 
there it is.

No extra software install and done on Kubuntu 14.04

All you 15.04 users I would not recommend installing system-config-samba
at all im suspecting the dependencys for this is making plasma crash
leaving you with a black screen and just a cursor. Its happen 2 times on
me already but without it no problems.
