Public bug reported:

In gnome-terminal you can split a window containing multiple tabs (terminals)
and merge again. See
http://askubuntu.com/questions/409062/is-it-possible-to-merge-multiple-gnome-terminal-windows-into-a-single-tabbed-vie
 and
http://askubuntu.com/questions/43114/merge-split-terminal-tab-back-into-one-terminal
 (also with video).
This behaviour is expected.

Now if I open two terminals. One by pressing <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<T> and one from
nautilus with "open tab here". Now it seems impossible to move tabs from one
window to the other. The moved tab just gets placed in a completely new window
instead of the widow it was dropped onto.
>From either terminal I can split and merge again. Also opening a new terminal
>in the same fashion seems to be compatible as far as I can see.
