Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
I'm running Gusty Tribe 5 with the latest updates from update-manager.
Starting with the installation of OO2.3, I get into an interesting crash
loop.
I will try to start the Spreadsheet to work with an empty spreadsheet.
It pops up the splash screen, I watch the progress bar go from 0 to 100%
and a dialog pops up with the verbiage:
Due to an unexpected error, OpenOffice.org crashed. All the files you were
working on will now be saved.
The next time OpenOffice.org is launched, your files will be recovered
automatically.
The following files will be recovered:
Of course the list is blank since I didn't open a file. I click OK and
I get a blank work processing page. I select File->New->Spreadsheet
from the menus, and it crashes again or goes to a grey screen and sits
indefinitely, waiting on me to kill and force quit the app.
I've tested this with the other OO apps in the gnome menu. Presentation
and database crash. Drawing gives me a full black screen with a white
ruler bar along the top. After a few seconds it greys out like a
dialog is supposed to popup and it never happens.
I tried to run it on the command line to capture any output and it just
backgrounds the process and I never get any output to the terminal.
