strace of fstat stressor shows it blocks on opening of /dev/xconsole

[pid  4578] stat("/dev/xconsole", {st_mode=S_IFIFO|0640, st_size=0, ...}) = 0
[pid  4578] lstat("/dev/xconsole", {st_mode=S_IFIFO|0640, st_size=0, ...}) = 0
[pid  4578] open("/dev/xconsole", ...

should open this with O_NONBLOCK to avoid this
