Public bug reported:

badblocks doesn't work on 5 TB disks:

WARNING: DATA DESTRUCTIVE (this is normal behaviour) command: "sudo
badblocks -svw /dev/sdX" while X is to set in for the whole disk. Use it
carefully with n instead of w.

Error:

"badblocks: This value is too big for the defined data type invalid end
block (4883770584): must be 32-bit value".

After data type there should be the end of the first sentence. This part
is in native language like German and the part after that in English.

Original in German: "badblocks: Der Wert ist zu groß für den definierten
Datentyp invalid end block (4883770584): must be 32-bit value".

Working workaround: Checking two partitions with less then 4 TB.

The maintainer should fix this 32-bit limit of 4 gb with a bigger
defined data type and maybe more changes.

Current maintainer referring to manpage is Theodore Ts'o <tytso [at]
alum.mit.edu>.
