I tried a less older upstream kernel (v4.1-unstable) and the errant log messages do not appear:
$ uname -r 4.1.0-040100-generic However, I get the display problem I originally complained about (see attached 'MVI_3208.MOV'). As well as these kernel messages: [ 1148.910440] [drm:intel_cpu_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe A FIFO underrun [ 9104.077066] [drm:intel_cpu_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe A FIFO underrun [ 9191.514885] [drm:intel_cpu_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe A FIFO underrun I'm not sure if this happened with the earlier non-messages kernel. ** Attachment added: "MVI_3208.MOV" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1492632/+attachment/4466135/+files/MVI_3208.MOV -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1492632 Title: [Ubuntu 15.10] Intel Display i915 driver crashes, Asus Zenbook 303LA To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1492632/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
