Binary package hint: compiz
One of the fixes for the nvidia problems with compiz is to start it with
--indirect-rendering; to do so, a user has to edit /usr/bin/compiz,
which will get clobbered every upgrade. IWBNI the compiz script had an
/etc/default file where users could add their own command-line
arguments.
