Public bug reported: Binary package hint: partman-auto-loop
Disk images need to be contiguous (as much as possible) with disk space pre-allocated. The only way to do that in linux I am aware of, is to use dd if=/dev/zero, but that is slow for large images. Apparently though, using the default bs=4k, things get quite speedier (thanks to Szabolcs Szakacsits for the tip). ** Affects: partman-auto-loop (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Use dd with bs=4k when creating disk images https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144793 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
