just a follow up:
I don't see errors any longer, with libgpod 0.3.2-0ubuntu1 and gtkpod
0.99.2-1ubuntu2. the I/O-errors I had were caused by

I'm marking this needinfo (if I have the permission to do so) so that
someone can check wether powerpc is still affected.
