Well spotted, thanks Casey.

This might be an unfortunate problem with the digit "1" in particular.
It's made the same width as all the other digits (so that it will line
up in financial statements etc) by adding more space on either side of
it. This means there's more empty space to the left of a 1 than any
other digit. I don't think you'd have the same problem with a date
starting with any other digit. But then, since about 1/3 of all dates
start with the digit 1, it's still something we should fix somehow.
