<unknown> is the default empty filter which is there before you add
yours. It doesn't do anything. Since this is likely some sort of race
issue with filters, it's not going to appear when there are no filters
(only the <unknown> one).

Maybe junk filtering and virus scans should not be exposed as filters
but instead some internal plugins (with configuration options) that hook
in as filters.
