My workaround to go into pavucontrol and set the Built-in Audio Analogue Stereo to "Headphones (unplugged)" does work, but sometimes I need to switch it into this mode multiple times (via "Speakers") in order to get the proper bass working. The same issue happens when using the command line via "pacmd set-sink-port 1 analog-output-headphones"
So, there's something weird happening here when trying to set the mode too, but it does work after a few tries.
