Getting this error as well on a Dell XPS-13 developer edition (ubuntu 14.04 LTE) with Kernel 4.3.0-rc2 from mainline[1].
Error occurs when I connect an external monitor on DisplayPort with 4k/60hz: Monitor flickers, turns black every five seconds and turns off completely after two or three minutes. Error message (constantly with dmesg) [14142.692434] [drm:gen8_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* The master control interrupt lied (SDE)! ... After changing resolution back to 1920x1080 everything works fine again without any error messages. Reproducable with stock kernel on ubuntu (3.13.0-37).
