Totally useless response. Thanks very much! How about telling the affected people HOW to fix the problem? For example, I just upgraded from 14.04 to 15.04, but I had long since stopped running the relatively ancient Ubuntu package in favor of the official Oracle package. But now I am stuck in a loop. Removing the official version is not sufficient. I cannot install the Ubuntu package because I still get: insserv: script virtualbox: service vboxdrv already provided! insserv: exiting now! update-rc.d: error: insserv rejected the script header dpkg: error processing package virtualbox (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of virtualbox-dkms: virtualbox-dkms depends on virtualbox (>= 4.3.26-dfsg-2ubuntu2); however: Package virtualbox is not configured yet. Package virtualbox-4.3 which provides virtualbox is not installed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1459891 Title: package virtualbox 4.3.26-dfsg-2ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox/+bug/1459891/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
