//SOLVED SINCE TRIBE 5 SO BUG CAN BE CANCELLED ** Description changed:
Experienced bug in Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 - installed from alternate herd 4 / Laptop: Sony Vaio Model: VGN-S5HP When trying to shut the notebook down, it stops the shutdown process with saying "[numbers.numbers Power down]". Laptop stays on with the harddisk spinning. Only a hard shutdown (power swith) helps. After this, rebooting sometimes the system doesn't work. I did not experience these issues on Feisty 7.04 final version - only Gutsy 7.10 creates this problem.
