One more thing, please keep the part:
"DPkg::Post-Invoke {"if [ -d /var/lib/update-notifier ]; then touch
/var/lib/update-notifier/dpkg-run-stamp; fi; "
the part of update-notifier that displays a icon (used in xfce iirc) will
depend on this file, it uses inotify to know reliable when apt was finished.
