I attempted this method, but following the instructions, I could not create a bootable disk. Following the instructions, my BIOS update file is to large for the mount. There are no instructions, nor could I find any on increasing the size of the mount.
While you may be correct that my BIOS is part of the root cause, it was working fine for years.
