(fwiw, I didn't trim down the config specifically for this - that *is*
my X config ;)
I tried with:
Section "Module"
Disable "sil164"
EndSection
and it didn't make a difference, but interestingly it still printed out
the "detecting sil164" messages you quoted from the logs.
I'll try and install tribe5 tonight to test (since presumably i can't
test suspend/resume from the LiveCD)
