At approximately 19:20 this evening I looked at my desktop monitor and
saw that the clock had stopped at 17:44:24. The only thing that shows up
in my syslog during that time period is:

Oct 18 17:44:24 localhost kernel: [336093.031878] [drm:drm_mode_addfb2] [FB:59]
Oct 18 17:44:24 localhost kernel: [336093.051163] [drm:drm_mode_addfb2] [FB:60]
Oct 18 17:44:24 localhost kernel: [336093.072544] [drm:drm_mode_addfb2] [FB:62]

The same in my kern.log although I've attached it for your review.

I moved the mouse a few times and the clock suddenly caught up to the
correct time.
