Public bug reported:
This wifi usb stick was working out of the box with gutsy. On 25
September 2007 I updated as requested. This request may have been for
any date in the previous 7 days as I have been away and not using the
system. The update requested a reboot and on reboot the wifi was dead no
"link" or "act" light showing. I then rebooted to change back to the
previous kernel and thought I would try with a different version of the
latest kernel. On reboot the wifi was active and working. The symptoms
are hard.
To summarize the wifi usb stick works with kernel 2.6.22-12-generic BUT
DOES NOT WORK with kernel 2.6.22-12-386. If any other info is required
instructions as how to get it will need to be precise.
I chose affix-kernel because the system would not accept "I don't know"
option nor would it accept "kernel"
