This bug seems to be related to plasma-nm (plasma network manager). For me it took a long time before the "Edit connection" actually showed up, about the same time it took for me to boot into KDE.
So I tried to setup the network the old fashioned way with /etc/network/interfaces and removed plasma-nm, now it boots like before. Luckily I don't need network-manager, so I can leave it like this. But if you run a laptop and want some easy setup with a network manager gui, than you should either wait for a fix, or try to use nm-applet found in gnomes network manager.
