Tiwai's suggestion is the following: "OK, could you try to add the following to /lib/firmware/alsa/test
[codec] 0x10ec0292 0x17aa5036 0 [hint] power_save_node = 0 ... and add patch module option to snd-hda-intel, e.g. put the following in /etc/modprobe.d/50-hda.conf: options snd-hda-intel patch=,alsa/test (Note that the comma after "patch=" is no typo but intentional, meaning to skip the first object.)" The original suggestion does not fix the issue but after changing the subsystem id 0x17aa5036 to 0x102805de the crackle is gone and only a barely audible pop is heard (much less startling than the crackle). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1509703 Title: [Latitude E5440, Realtek ALC3226] Loud, single crackle sound when the login screen appears or resuming from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1509703/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
