To clarify, you are downloading the latest version from ftp://driver.jmicron.com.tw/Ethernet/Windows/ ? >"Seems like it is a hardware problem." If this is reproducible with the latest driver version from Windows, you could call the manufacturer to inquire about if there is a firmware update that could be applied to fix this problem. If not, you could request a replacement of the same model where they updated the hardware to do as advertised. Circling back to linux, a quirk could be added that automatically invokes the WORKAROUND you noted in your Bug Description, given it doesn't just work when you plug it in. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1497005 Title: 197b:0250 JMicron JMC250 Gigabit ethernet doesn't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1497005/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
