Public bug reported:

I've tried everything I can think of. Uninstalling and reinstalling.
Many threads suggest adjusting my gnome settings in some way, I'm using
Unity, and none of them have worked, and several have crashed my system.
I've also tried Unity Tweak and no luck there - you can adjust the fonts
for everything *except* the actual desktop font size and font size in
the folders.

On Ubuntu 14.04
using nvidia binary driver v.246.96

Any help appreciated. Thanks!
