I assure you, this is a thing that's broken.  Please see that forum
discussion I pointed out.  I've upgraded two systems and did a (nearly)
clean install on another.  In all three cases, I had to manually install
the correct kernel version.  This is a bug in 15.10, and I'm not the
only one who has noticed.
