I'm getting this too. When I tried to nano my ~/bashrc file (just as me, not as root), the first two times it segfaulted. The third (and any later) times, now it displays "Couldn't determine hostname for lock file: File name too long" for ANY file I try to open or create. Upgraded from Ubuntu 15.04 to 15.10 two days ago. Attached is the crash log that apport created when nano segmentation faulted the first two times.
