Hi again...

More updates: the printer somehow printed a test page, which made me
think perhaps all was now ok. However, attempts to print from Firefox's
adobe add-on, and from the Text Editor, failed. On opening the HP device
manager I got an error alert, as in the picture I've adjoined..

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, and I'm really sorry to be such a
bother to you people, but I don't seem to be able to solve this on my
own.

Looking again at the Printer test page, I see it gives a blank, for the
parameter Printer Location: which is a bit odd. The report from hp-check gives
the uri as
Device URI: hp:/usb/HP_LaserJet_1018?serial=LF04EKT
, which looks ok, I think?

Well, I'll leave this in your hands, as I have no idea on what to do
next.

Best regards, and thanks,

Tristram

Hi Till!

Thank you for answering...

Well, I have two versions of an HP 1018 printer in my list of printers,
so I desabled the one called "Hewlett-Packard-HP-LaserJet-1018, which
hp-check doesn't seem to recognise as a printer ("Type: Unknown"), and
enabled the other one. There is still a problem, however, apparently
with the HP_Laserjet_1018.ppd file....

I'm including the output of the hp-check -t command.

Thank you for your time.

Regards,
Tristram
