Public bug reported:

Have the SATA turned to IDE in the BIOS. Also included "nomodeset" into
the original boot command (pressing "e" when choosing how you want to us
ubuntu). Chose to "try Ubuntu." Enabled my internet connect and ran
"sudo apt-get update" and "sudo apt-get upgrade" in the terminal. Then
I selected to install Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS. I enabled the update while
installing option. Once the installation status at the bottom of the
window changed to "installing grub2" the installation crashed about 2 or
3 mins.
