Hi Christopher, Tried several options in the timeslot I had at that pc yesterday, sadly without any success to update the bios at the moment.
In a few weeks time I hope to be back at that machine and will try wine, but as it is not the ideal way forward I would need a backup solution if it damages the bios. The pc is never in heavy processing involved, but it is many hours per week powered-on and on-line. Any suggestion for a new stable platform where I could put in the IDE-harddisk and it keeps working? Naturally one of the next steps will be to update the hard-disk to an sata one, but usually I'm on limited time to work on that pc. Therefore I need to be able to work it in stages.
