It affects me too. I am using LXDE over Ubuntu 15.04. I am regularly updating Ubuntu using `sudo apt-get update`.
What happened? : I was working on my system. I configured my vim using a github repo here : https://github.com/vivekiitkgp/Dotfiles-vim ... After which .. I started editing a file. .. When I returned to my Desktop folder, All files and folders were gone. Restarted my pc then. Now, even the wallpaper is gone. At the startup, right after asking for password to login, it showed me a window which said something like (I don't remember exact) Use `new language` for `/home/abhishek/Pictures` or keep the old one. I ticked on use the new language.
