Tested the latest *ubuntu3 packages: - direct upgrade: get the known issue - goto /var/lib/dpkg/info/ to delete each related gdm/gdm3/gir1.2/libgdm packages - then open a terminal to install gdm/gdm3 : no warnings met !!!! - but reinstalling the said packages from synaptic, and the error is back.
