I have the same problem, and as noted by hitechcomputergeek, the freeze
occurs when attempting to move a window to a different workspace, not by
switching workspaces. I am using Ubuntu 15.10 64 bit on a 2009 Mac mini
(2.26ghz C2D, 8 gb RAM)
