Chris, it's working now. No idea why. I changed nothing. (At least not intentionally.)
Never tried ethernet in the hotel, but noticed yesterday evening that there is an ethernet port in my room. Plugged a cable in and it worked. No dropped pings, no stalled connections. Also tried it this morning in the office, with the same cable as yesterday and today it works. This really qualifies for "more magic". http://www.catb.org/jargon/html /magic-story.html The only remarkable thing is that I bought a usb ethernet adapter yesterday evening, but tried the integrated port in the hotel before trying the usb adapter. The ACPI message still show up in the syslog, but as the behaviour has changed (ethernet working again), they are probably not related. Thanks for your help, but without a flaw to investigate, we probably have to close this bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1516407 Title: Ethernet interface stops working after a few seconds To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1516407/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
