Laszlo: the wifi card has nothing to do with your system freezes. It is the kernel. Use kernel Version 4.1.12, that is a confirmed workaround confirmed by at least 3 people in this thread. for the wifi card just create a file in /etc/modprobe.d/rtl8723be.conf with content: options rtl8723be fwlps=0 or load the module otherwise with those options. That does the trick. good luck.
