Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.22

Gutsy x86_64 with kernel 2.6.22-12-generic.

Up until a recent kernel update hibernate (and suspend) was working
fine. However, since the update hibernate seems to freeze the PC (in
/etc/acpi/hibernate.sh) at the point where it does:

echo -n "disk" >/sys/power/state

The freeze occurs whether initiating hibernate from gnome or by directly
executing the script /etc/acpi/hibernate.sh

It seems mostly to occur after GDM has been allowed to start. Once it
has started, even if subsequently stopped, trying to hibernate using

$ /etc/acpi/hibernate.sh force

results in the same freeze.

** Affects: linux-source-2.6.22 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
