To jump in for Ted here; I'm pretty sure that "very large" is in the millions range. Whatever the cause though, the best way for us to be able to reproduce, diagnose, and fix it is with an image of the filesystem, even if it is with the file names scrambled ( the names don't really matter anyhow, just the number and possibly placement of them ).
