Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.
The log indicates that /proc is not mounted, which is unexpected for a
Ubuntu system. Please try to restart your system in order to get /proc
mounted during boot and retry the install. Let us know how that goes. If
it still fails with the same error, could you please attach or
copy&paste the contents of the file /etc/fstab ?
