...
here it is flash-kernels postinst itself that gets executed and there is indeed
a bug ...
the variable is respected everywhere else (i.e. in
/etc/kernel/postinst.d/zz-flash-kernel or /etc/initramfs/post-update.d
/flash-kernel)
