Public bug reported:
Following an upgrade from Precise to Trusty, a dreadful process,
Synaptic refuses to open, reporting:
E: The value 'precise-updates' is invalid for APT::Default-Release as such a
release it not available in the sources
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.
I searched for this setting in /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/ but I can't see it
anywhere. In fact, an "fgrep -i precise /etc/*" reveals no remaining
mention of precise whatsoever.
Synaptic is now useless.
