You have been subscribed to a public bug: I have installed Ubuntu on my HP n11-6TU laptop. I originally installed 15.04 and it may have frozen once or twice while running that version. I did notice that under high load I would see artifacts on the external (HDMI) monitor, like momentary diagonal streaks across the screen.
I upgraded to 15.10 when it was released and started to experience semi regular hangs of the system these hangs would happen once every couple of hours of use and seemed to be related to video updates. For example it would happen when I scrolled in a web browser, and would rarely happen when I was working on code or when the system was idle. The hangs happen both when using the built in monitor or the external monitor. When the system hangs the screen remains static. The mouse does not move. The system does not respond to any keyboard or mouse input from built in or external devices. The system does not respond to a ping or any other type of attempted network connection. The only way I can find to recover the system is to hold the power button down until the power is switched off, and then to power it on again. I will attach my dmesg output. If there is anything else I can try please let me know. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- 15.04 hangs on HP pavillion 11 inch laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1520746 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
