Public bug reported:
1. Upgrade nautilus from 3.14 to 3.18 (e.g. dist-upgrade from wily to xenial)
2. Without restarting your session, try to open a directory from the launcher
or dash (maybe also the desktop would work)
Nothing opens.
In ~/.cache/upstart/unity7.log there is
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NotSupported: Application does
not handle command line arguments
and manually restarting nautilus (pkill -f nautilus ; nautilus -n &)
resolves the problem. nautilus -q doesn't work with the same error.
** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
** Summary changed:
- Can't open directories without restarting Nautilus after upgrading from 3.14
to 3.18
+ Can't open directories before restarting Nautilus after upgrading from 3.14
