I had discovered following bugs regarding upport of the XMPP protocol:
* it has been removed to complete disable requirement of secure connections
* pidgin rejects connection to servers with self-signed certificates
* the "old-style SSL connection" produces "Invalid handshake" error
** Affects: pidgin (Ubuntu)
