Thanks for your bug report. Unfortunately there is not enough
information here for a developer to be able to reproduce this bug. Can
you provide a complete example including data files needed to run an
example Octave script that shows the error? The "vrml_demo_tutorial_4"
command works fine for me in a recent version of Octave.
