I can't reproduce this. Can you link me to the full build logs?

However:

is a red flag: the GOARCH for what ubuntu calls ppc64el is ppc64le.
'ppc64' means big-endian ppc, not something that Ubuntu supports. Is it
possible that GOARCH is getting set to ppc64 somehow?

(I totally can't see why the new gccgo-go package would affect this, but
whatevs. maybe it's because the new package was compiled with the new
version of gccgo?)
